Not Peter, I never wear these, actually I don't have anything like these. I guess Huseyin is right about women wearing these slippers 100 or so years ago....
Do you like live cams? Elephants at Pete's Pond in Africa right now. I even found a hummingbird live cam. Just go to my personal blog and click on the link I posted
In this blog, not only you will learn about Istanbul in general but also will be able to see little details that are only clear and visible to natives. If you are ready to see what it is really like to live in Istanbul, do not overlook my blog and spend some time reading :) This is Istanbul through my eyes; this is Istanbul through my life...

They sure are colourful and pretty!
If I understand this correctly, you are not wearing any of these? Maybe a pity?
my vote is for slippers, i guess women would not wear that kind of shoes 100 and maybe even more years ago out of their homes..
Love this photo. Beautiful shoes or slippers - whichever they are.

I realy like them! Without the soft ball at the front (pompom in portuguese) I will easily wear them. Why not? :)

ball ball in Chinese!
I like these! Wonder if they're comfortable... I'd rather not have the pompom (we call it that in Norway as well). :)
Haha, actually my little daugther is wearing the red ones. I bought them at the bazar about a yr ago. Very nice to see more of Istanbul!
