The Dead Shark

March 27, 2008

This shark got caught to fishermen's net in Sile- northern part of Istanbul-. When they noticed they caught a shark, it was to late for this poor thing because it was already dead. They didn't leave the shark there and decided to use it as a tool of getting attention.

I felt pity for this little guy and when the fishermen saw me sad, they offered me the shark. I refused them, of course. Do I look like a girl with a dead shark collection?

Yes, I feel sorry for the shark too. Life is a hard job in the oceans now. It will get even harder in the future.

LOL, no you don't! But, why didn't they process it and sell it or just freeze it for they own consumption? Shark steaks aren't cheap around here.

It could be a good way to scare off robbers though...

TGIF!!! Finally, some moments without having to think on things to do tomorrow and with time to come and enjoy your posts! But look what I get here: a SHARK!! ;))
Fortunately there was the beautiful friend in front of one of the oldest buildings and the stunning sunset! That res sun, I saw only in Fiji Islands; definitely have to go back to Istanbul.
Have a great weekend!

Understand that you did not want to bring any shark home!

But there is a campaign going on to defend the sharks and there is a film called Sharkwater, on the screens here right now, which I haven't seen, but which seems very interesting and which has got a lot of good comments: http://www.sharkwater.com/

Seda, you probably should delete the Kalar comment without opening; it seems rather suspect...
